MICHAEL RAIFORD

MICHAEL RAIFORD

Mike was born in Columbus and raised in the bi-city area. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama, where he majored in finance and economics and studied law. He served as a supply services officer in the U.S. Air Force and later worked at the Social Security Regional Headquarters in Birmingham, managing a claims processing group. He received a Juris Doctorate from Birmingham School of Law in 1978 and was admitted to practice in Alabama. 

He opened a solo practice of law upon his return to Phenix City and merged in 2002 into the firm of Ezell, Chancey and Raiford. He has served as president of the Russell County Bar Association and is a member of the Alabama and American Bar Associations and the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation. He served as Municipal Court Judge for a number of years and was appointed Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama. 

He has served as board member, president, and board chairman of the PC/RC Chamber of Commerce; commissioner and attorney for the Phenix City Housing Authority; board member of South Trust Bank of Russell County; and attorney for the Phenix City Industrial Development Board, in addition to a number of civic service endeavors.

He and his family are active members of First Baptist Church of Columbus. He joined Meacham in Early 2019, bringing his experience in the areas of Wills and Estates, Social Security Disability, Real Estate, and Civil Law.
